This round only affects redundant, non-critical roles or consistent low performers. If you didn’t get one, you’re not in the crosshairs.
To those who did: sorry you’re dealing with this. The job market is still decent—many have landed better roles quickly. Take the time to ups-skill, network, and invest in yourself. You’ve got valuable skills and you’ll be okay.

Are pharmacists in non-clinical roles being impacted or are they hanging on to them like they’re precious gold?
I"ve heard it's about 1000 being affected!
In past reductions, they have subtracted Admin Pay from Severance - so consider yourselves lucky!
@ba yes, I get the two months admin leave (huge relief) and after that admin leave I'll be eligible for the severance.
@a3 2% of 210,000 team members company wide. But of 3,000 corporate team members it’s suddenly 25-30%
@ay how did you get admin leave? VP admin assist didn’t get that.
@ba I am pretty sure they are just talking about the severance component. The 2 months admin leave is given as Walgreens did not post a WARN notice. after the admin leave, they get the 4 week sev.
@b0 Am surprised to hear only 4 weeks. They didn't file a WARN notice in Illinois, so you should also get 2 months admin leave to compensate in addition to severance.
Well its not about performance its about the dollar amount you had in salary. I was a high performing manager on a high performing team and was let go.
Those who are laid off with less than one year service should get more compensation than 4 weeks. Why did Walgreens hire for the role if they did not have a need for it for even a year? These kind of irresponsible actions destroy our careers. We have to explain why we were let go from Walgreens in less than a year.
@az I was told years of service. I wasn't there for a full year so I get 4 weeks.
@ay how did they calculate the severance?
@am a VP and an HR rep is who the meetings are with. Mine was not with my VP. The email stated "business update". My last official day is the 13th, then on admin leave until April 17th and then I'll be eligible for severance.
what kind of severance package does people received?
@am HR and a leader, Business Update
Who are the meetings with? Also meeting titles please?
This is literally just not true. Since when are merchants non critical roles? Some great performers being let go. This isn’t a helpful post
These vague posts are not helpful at all. Please provide details
@aa I was directly impacted that way I was even told so verbally.
@aa if so class action lawsuit waiting to happen.
You have no clue whatsoever. The number is actually super high.
@a9 Agree. Why else did they do those performance reductions? To save half of my meager bonus? Curious if those who were impacted by the performance reductions are getting the emails?
Ugh I got a 2.9 pick me and let someone else keep their job if they want to keep it!!
You really don't have a clue of what you're talking about but it's nice to know you can't be trusted.
Yeah this has little to nothing todo with performance, I suspect it's either project based (something they want to do less of) or cost based. Since I am remote that could also be a driver I can't be RTO..
@a5 Maybe your role is not critical to the company.
@a3 I got a meeting notice. I’m not a low performer. Not even close.
What are you smoking ? My Performance review was 3.6. Top Performing team. Are you kidding me? You have no idea what you are talking about. Maybe the org will make sense. But I did not think I will get the cut I was shocked. However everything is for the best, it will be fine. It is just a job.
From what I've seen internally/on the numbers shared, this specific round is affecting less than 2% of the total workforce. That keeps the overall numbers relatively small in the grand scheme of the company, even if it feels huge to those impacted (and I know it does).
lol this was posted by a fed
There are more than just a few about to be canned, wake up. I know FIVE high producers alone that are about to be gone, so wrong you are.
