Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

where is that Crusty Old Man Barrett when we need him most ??

Intel will cancel 14A and following nodes if it can't win a major external customer — move would cede leading-edge nodes to TSMC and Samsung | Tom's Hardware https://share.google/JDhnTTZU9oxFsfK29

@ba It was never removed. He had an office and an admin on the 4th floor of CH7 for years after he stepped down as CEO. It wasn't uncommon to see him in the C7 cafe getting coffee in the morning.

@am I'm struggling with the double negative, for some reason. Should we believe OP is Craig Barrett or not? Thx!.

CRB invested billions to get us into comm and networking. Now to be discarded.

Tan said between the lines yesterday that without a hail Mary touchdown, intel will abandon 14a and become fabless. Shoet of china invading Taiwan, there is no hope for intel in its current incarnation.

He's enjoying life far away from the corporate BS that goes on here in America.

CB was the driving force behind Itanium...how many billions did Intel lose on that product line? He was also the CEO when Intel used the abusive sales practices that got Intel the first ever $1B fine from the EU. The slow motion train wreck of Intel's decline started under his watch. Yep, Intel really needs a leader like him again...
