Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Sold all my RSUs at $100

Sold them the other week when they hit 100 bucks and change. I hope you weren't a bag holder. Peace.

Apparently Legacy EMCers weren’t burdened with RSUs.
I’m sure they had our best interests at heart.

@ba+1jqyj9k9n, did you sell at $120 on the way up or on the way down? A lot of folks made a lot of money in the first half of 2024.[1]

The writing has been on the wall for a while that DELL was overvalued. Free investment dollars, yes, which is exactly why you should sell and then immediately diversify.

The run up to $160 was lightning in a bottle.

@a2+1jqyj9k9n - you probably should have sold your 2024 grants. The vest price is nearly $130 a share. I doubt they're worth that again anytime in the next 2 years.

@OP+1jqyj9k9n, sorry to hear this. Remember, you can only deduct $3,000 in losses. The remaining losses will have to be carried forward.

Nah, it's a hold. I held my $20, $30 & $40 grants from 2020 to 2023 and cashed out almost $800k last year at $160. I'm still holding the rest of my 23, 24 & 25 grants for the same thing that will come in the next 2-5 years. RSUs are free investment dollars, they are not a paycheck.
