A year ago I gave my Dir a poor review for a number of reasons. Our group only had 2 managers and they had another IC reporting them (so 3 direct reports for the Dir). When the scores came out:
As one of the managers, I only had 4 dir reports so I didn’t get feedback. The other manager got decent feedback. So when the pooled feedback for the Dir’s group came back negative they assumed I got the bad reviews and not them. That may be the case, but I doubt it.
When specific questions came back negative the Dir assumed that everyone misunderstood the question. For example: Are you thinking of leaving? Then score showed that many considered leaving. The Dir clarified to the group that talking to a recruiter who calls you or opening their email doesn’t count as considering leaving. (Everyone already knows that!).
We were told how to answer carefully for new surveys.
Nothing changed.
So I agree, no good can come from those surveys.

@2hs it’s not anonymous. Read what identifying information is retained in the T&C’s prior to the survey.
Once you break it down by age, years of service, etc. it’s pretty clear who’s who.
But, if you have a decent manager, they likely can figure out who’s clicking ‘strongly disagree’ or ‘strongly agree’. Your manager probably has a decent idea of your opinions on the place.
It’s all anonymous. Everyone’s got to speak up if they’re not happy — otherwise it’s just the Kool-Aid crowd getting counted in the results. Who wants to sit through the next all-hands and hear, ‘OHS results show RTO’s been embraced by the whole organisation’? Not me.

Disagree. Make it clear that the best thing EM can do to goose the stock price is to bounce GM and his sycophants.
@am I can one up you, our mgmt has set a goal that we each fill it out!? How exactly are they going to measure that!? These people are INSANE!
@bg the results can be filtered by your manager, by things like age, gender, time employed, or other demographics entered in Workday, but they will only filter if 5 or more people fit in the category.
The survey is pointless. By the time the results from one survey are released, the next survey arrives. The organization has survey fatigue and things that matter are not improved. The onus is put on middle managers to draft solutions to the poor survey results yet the reality is failings often lie within ExCom or other senior leaders who refuse to accept responsibility.
If we fill out the survey, will my manager know what I wrote? Basically, is the survey really anonymous?
@b9 man I wish I was so delusional that I thought EM was going to do anything that would benefit me as an employee. Holy cow man, they’re not going to return the company to the ‘good ol days’ and I’m sure if they thought they could make another buck off this company they’d put someone in charge that makes us beg for Neutron Omar/Geoffry.
Zero confidence in senior/executive leadership since 2021. Waiting for Elliot to remove GM & BW.
Please don't sc--w you manager if he/she is agood person, it clearly say "MANAGER" now as far of GM and crew ... let the good times roll, all NOT AT ALL 1 to 3's
I feel personally insulted by the OHS questions. It is such a joke that they even send these out.
Do you feel secure in your job? Uhh well I just watched my VP toss 7 of my colleagues out like garbage in May so nope. She got her promotion this year so all is okay in her world.
Do you feel like you can trust what leadership says? I have watched VPs and Sr. Directors lie repeatedly so I would say that I do not believe anything that comes out of their vile mouths.
Are the stress levels reasonable? Uhh well my doctor is concerned that I have gained 30lbs in the past year from stress and anxiety directly tied to this sh-t company so I would say Nope.
I cannot wait to get out of this hellhole run by pieces of sh-t.
Improving our team's OHS score is one of the goals for everyone on my team. Idk how my boss gets away with that.

Absolutely true. If you want to share your anger it might make you feel better but you will be square in the bullseye. Nothing EVER comes from these surveys except rooting out the “problem children”.
