@p8 This thread is about DEI not why Intel only hires Indians. The white PhDs all work for successful companies like Apple and Tesla.
Almost everyone in my sub department has a PhD. Usually, the exception to this is white people who worked at Intel a while before being hired. I have no issue with this, but don’t come after non-white Americans with advanced degrees who’d have trouble being considered without those degrees.
If you look, the DEI hires are starting to be pushed out in many companies. The system is slowly self healing. Turns out ability matters, whocouldaknown?

DEI is one of many problems got Intel to today. Back then, Intel was making lots of money, and Intel can afford DEI. Today, Intel is tryng to survive and rebuild. DEI can come again once rebuild are done.

The US had to cut off China's foreign oil supply from Venezuelan and Iranian dictators. Trump will not allow China to have enough oil to invade Taiwan and sieze TSMC during the AI arms race. This is necessary precisely because of Intel's failed and discriminatory DEI and H1B programs.

Yup- there are a bunch of military veterans at Intel who have been super helpful. Seeing as many of them don't have college degrees or directly-related job experience, they're 100% DEI hires.
