Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

R2B transforming to D2D

What are the thoughts behind this transition? Do you think this is go move or bad move? What are the rumors on how quota is going to be and if we are getting a comp increase decrease or change to salary? Just any more information about this transition would be appreciated. Crazy times right now at Verizon. (Posted this on other VzW thread got no responses sorry)

@ar D2D is what AT&T has been doing it’s very low pay. Wouldn’t be surprised they plan to make the R2B reps do the one talk installs for upsell opportunities that the retail stores sell.

@ay where have you heard about pay increase for base pay an at risk? My rbsm hasn’t mentioned that. Only that we might go salary but then we don’t get OT anymore so idk how to feel.

Im in a R2B and IM EXCITED. Title changes, pay increase on both base & at risk. Im sick of working with retail stores and battling them for ggz. Im sick of giving 300% of my effort to stores while they dont even bother to help with New logos and only focus on cpgas. This is an awakening for the r2b reps that had the skill set to prospect with out dealing with the retail maintenance bullsh-t upkeep. The only r2b reps that arent happy about this change would be the ones that been eating off store traffic for years. We can now run our day start from home and deal with offsite meetings with businesses. Basically another b2b role

@ar interesting. There used to be a sales position many years ago, I forget what it was called but it was one of the highest paid positions, but also one of the most difficult and high stress. Wonder if it's along the same lines. I wish I could remember more about it.

D2D=Door 2 Door. They are basically making R2B glorified door to door salesman.

No more supporting the retail stores, but you can’t work from home, your office is the retail stores, but don’t support them just work in the back and work on new logos and mapping out what places you will go door pull because there is so much business out there to be won outside of the retail stores.

So I’m in R2B and I just don’t get where the arrogance is coming from with the entire R2B org for some reason having this notion they can outsell B2B. Majority of us don’t even have the first clue on how to run a proper meeting no offense since we are so used to navigating super small deals and helping customers at the store and moving on to the next store customer. Especially in regards to cold prospecting new logos like I don’t get where anyone thinks that we somehow have more of a skill set suited for that over B2B when that is literally what b2b does day in and day out. I feel 70% of the r2b org doesn’t have the first clue how to prospect without store support. Again I’m r2b……I think a lot of my peers will be in for a rude awakening and it’s going to much more difficult than everyone realizes. Anyone else?
