Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Early Exit and Termination for Penny?

Since this Enterprise Reimagine was so bad, who will take responsibility? There are loads of complaint from field and survivors, who should take responsibility?

Also hearing that this is the master plan that Chubak wants Penny to do ER so that he can be managing partner faster. Nobody wants to wait 5 years to see Penny retire and then taking over.

I am sickened to my stomach to see this organization go backwards in all of the values they believe in + the momentum the firm had around new business/technology/products. We lost so many unicorns and institutional knowledge that we will never get back.

@4kg Let's be honest. Yes, Penny has been terrible, but she's not going anywhere. She's surrounded herself with enough parasitic leeches that know if their host is gone, so are they. If she leaves, early it will because her partnership agreement both allows for it (it might not) and as her choice.

I can guarantee it will be even worse is Chubak takes over. That guy is a self-absorbed sociopath that only cares about himself. Let's all pray it's David Gunn or someone with a soul.

Penny is an absolute disaster. I would not doubt Chubak is trying to bait Penny into making mistakes so he can become MP as fast as possible. Chubak is a ruthless manipulator. This is the absolute antithesis of what Ted's vision was for the firm. The genie is out of the bottle and cannot be put back in. This firm went from one of a kind to just another company who only cares about the bottom line and internal politics in a few short years because they picked the wrong person to become managing partner. It's over folks.

@b8 The tenured field office staff are horrified with what pp has done to the firm. We appreciate everyone at our home office and think the layoffs are horrible. I have pictures of our managing partners in my office. One came down this week and was relaced with another of Weddle.

No chance they sell or go public. Nobody wants to be the managing partner who sold out Ted’s wish for the firm to be owned by those doing the work. This is just poor leadership.

@OP There's been several rumors circulating around, with one of them being that PP may eventually take the firm public (or sell to a competitor), but I wouldn't be surprised if it was (also) part of the master plan to fast track DC to become the next MP.

Just out of curiosity, are you from the field? I'm curious how many branch teams are actually rejoicing over this whole ER debacle vs. being disappointed by the loss of culture and institutional knowledge and everything else that has transpired up until this point. From what I've been hearing, branch teams have been wanting something like ER to happen to the home office for some time now.
