I’ve been pushing myself for years, late nights, weekends, going above and beyond, but it doesn’t seem to matter. Promotions go to the same people, and real advancement feels out of reach. It’s frustrating to give so much and feel completely stuck. Makes you wonder why you bother.

What gets people promoted in 2025?
In the area I work, nothing. Promotions are forbidden. The only chance at advancing is if there is an open req at a higher GL. You have to then apply and get that job. And open reqs onshore are few and far between.

Why would you do that? Working nights and weekends is not what gets people promoted in 2025.
We you scale back, people will wonder “whats wrong” why are you not available 20 hours a day.
Sometimes you have to learn to say no.
Promotions at UHC have never been fair. They pick their friends over talent. I refuse to brown nose so no promotion for me and that's fine.
