I was fired about 2 weeks ago over my idle time. My quality was 100% since January. I was completing the work that needed to be done. But my idle time was a little too high??
I was given a month to fix it and bring it down to a certain %. Then a few days later I was told I had 2 weeks instead of that month AND my idle % had to be lower than before. It was nearly impossible. And guess what.. I got fired.. Seems to me like they’re looking for anything to fire people. If you’re not perfect, you’re fired.

So how many of us will be here in 6 months. Lay off in Aug or what? Quiet time between calls is alarming I do not want to see the writing on the wall.
@b8 this isn't new tracking software. I was a bsl there for 12 years (left 4 years ago) and I could see this on the software list for employees then. At the time, our managers didn't know what it was or how to access it. I assumed it was installed for hr use.
If I remember correctly, I couldn't remove it from laptops but could see it.
@1sy My department is also scraping the barrel for work. We in the process of migrating to a new system, but still odd. Curious if inventory is just lost or misplaced in the transition or if something else is going on.
There’s barely any work my department they talked to me about idle time and told me to click an empty sheet constantly. oh okay deal
Set up a "fake call" on TEAMS and you will show as IN A CALL for as long as you want.. :-)
Their idle time BS is the most inaccurate representation of “work” I have ever seen. For those that aren’t being accountable for idle time, be thankful! Basically a “clock” starts after either 30 or 60 seconds of no keystrokes or mouse movement & each person/team has a goal to be under. The powers that be must have forgotten that we can move our mouse with one hand & scroll on social media or anything else we want with the other!
All of this. People who give us the demands and expectations never done it a day at work.
Idle time? On teams? Teams isn't accurate at all. I've noticed teams showing away when in FACT I was at my desk working. I'm not the only one
what is idle time? Do we work in a factory?

Sorry that happened. I took the buyout and left. Life without being chained to a desk and fretting over idle time has been magical. It feels like the color coming back to my life. I hope on the other end of this you feel it too
Most states are at will so no reason needed to terminate you. Sun came up that fits the bill
Has anybody been able to challenge and receive unemployment after getting canned for too much idle time?
They started last year with idle time rants. That was your first warning the voluntary reduction was your 2nd warning. You know their goal is to get rid of as many people as possible. I'm sorry that happened to you but after all of this, they are literally looking for any reason so fire people. This shouldn't really be a surprise at this point. Idle time, quality, late a min to log in or a min longer on your lunch, anything they can justify they will.
Curious to know what you idle time was that it got you fired?
They downloaded new software recently and are tracking everyone’s production, idle time, and overall time in documents, emails, etc. They just want to cut as many as they can and place their new AI technology in the system.
They have always had unrealistic expectations.
