VP hiring frenzy again

After years of getting rid of unnecessary VPs, the executives are on a VP hiring frenzy again. These executives can't get the job done without VPs reporting to them, but the work is actually done at lower levels.
Keep up the good work in going back to a top-heavy company that gets nothing done. Employees sacrifice bonus, pay increase, and promotions to pay for these unnecessary VPs. How many VPs does a company need? Seagate never learns...

Perhaps someone could use AI to review all these slides and meetings, figure out what actually contributes to success and the bottom line, and then lay off the remainder that are useless.

I saw the analysts presentation today. Fancy slides, lots of puffery about the explosive growth in storage and how Mosaic is poised to exploit this growth. One could appreciate all the inputs by those VPs.

But per usual, not one mention of the engineers, technicians, assemblers who create and produce the product. PEOPLE DO NOT MATTER TO THIS C-SUITE!

Well I’m sure you have noticed that 80% of the “work” at this company is documenting slides to update management. Simply knowing what’s going on and what the latest numbers are is currency at Seagate so the top can look engaged and deliver the next news blurb of good progress. The company has driven all decisions up to VP instead of down to knowledge experts which further exasperates update work. So the opposite of empowerment is? I’m ok collecting my check for this and following the update and carry out orders routine but it’s not how a good business is run.

Silly poster, all VP positions are VP of scrap.

If there are no VP, then you (the real worker) would have to spend half your day creating PPT for the C Suite. So thank the VP for doing that for you!
