Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Once cascade 2 concludes will we hear crickets

Once cascade 2 concludes we should hear crickets, right? Sourcing and Shoring will be the next part of Enterprise Reimagined in 2026.

@bd Citi cut back on IT outsourcing in favor of in office hiring. However, as of 6/30/2025 Citibank NA has petitions for 794 H1-B employees. That number was much higher (actually peaking) under Chubak's tenure as CEO of retail banking at Citi. So while they are outsourcing less jobs to India, they are importing H1-B immigrants to the US to fill those positions. As Chubak's power at EJ grows, I only expect for him to bring those practices he employed at Citi. I think it would only be naive to think differently.

Ripping the bandaid off of thinking one can work at a company for life and coast without accountability happened decades ago at other firms. Reimagined is just a reflection of a reality that exists everywhere outside of the EDJ bubble.

@b7 Citibank has reverted. I'm not sure if you saw the news.

I think Enterprise Reimagined is just the beginning. They've ripped the bandaid off of the "no layoffs" part of Jones history. I think from now on, every role will be continuously scrutinized to see how they can be consolidated or eliminated, or how the role can be outsourced to India.

I see one the next step to be removing us and filing roles with h1b visa holders. Citibank already does that, and I'm sure Chubak is eager to implement the strategy here.

Whatever happens, I don't envision a future where we just go back to the way things used to be.

I would expect anything.

But I’ve been thinking about this… I think they will continue to lighten the load through attrition. I suspect many associates will flee as soon as they can. Especially those who’ve been demoted. Also, I anticipate higher expectations and accountability for all. I think it’ll become a PIP factory.
