@d7 Did they ever get this sorted out? Who was it?

It's comical when faces you have NEVER seen in your office shuffle in at 9, 10, 11am and then proceed to wander around like f-ing zombies looking for a desk.

Ford Land is a joke. Buildings are not ready for return to work. They were not ready over a year ago when we came back 3 days a week. They have had plenty of time to make things right and yet things are not. They removed desks and now they wonder why there isn't enough space. I am sorry but 4 days in the office is not hybrid and should justify an assigned desk. My job requires working on hardware. Am I supposed to take all my parts home at night since I might not get the same desk again the next day. If Ford Land throws out my parts the company will loose lots of money. Oh well, I guess they are steering the ship. No parts = less work = poor quality = does not meet objectives............ Frustrating times ahead. I hope it will pass so we can get back to work and concentrate on important objectives we all have.

Which buildings are getting pushed to max density with the 4-day RTO policy?

@fc Ford Land refers to this as a team building event/bonding exercise.

@b7 RTO gruntles the commmercial real estate investors.

Regional banks will go broke if the CRE builders can’t lease out their buildings. Ford has to show the smaller companies that they’re a ‘team player” and set an example.

People really love that good, old-fashioned RTO-style collaboration so much that they are willing to endure this level of inconvenience? I can't imagine anything going on is that amazing...

Great planning by Ford Land. RTO without enough desk space, parking, and cleaning personnel. We will have to see how this all works out.

@c4 if you think people aren’t serious.. you’re cooked. I came on here because people started posting on their story. They probably posted you, yelling at young impressionable FCGs for never walking into a plant before (if you heard their experience during hiring you’d know they used to go to a plant with their pops as a kid)

Maybe they should get filing cabinets with 6 ft. long drawers. 5S / Lean makes HUGE profits. Right? Then at least everyone could fit and have their own space. Also, if they go belly up, they could sell the cabinets to a morgue. How fitting! Tightly fitting though.

I am embarrassed to tell anyone that I work for Ford. Everyone knows Ford has the worst products. Poor quality, unsafe products, outdated products, behind in technology, Ford vehicles are ugly, no innovation, overpriced, they all looked the same years after years.

Sorry, I am not proud to be a Ford employee. Waiting to retire later this year.

No parking spot, no desk, no seat. And now they are asking people to email or use Teams chat when in the office to reduce the noise level. What’s the point of in-person collaboration then? This is ridiculous!

@aj Cars were also parked in the driveway and on the sidewalk.

Sitting on cabinets, in walkways. Parking lots full to the point that team members were parking on grass.

Ford has a solution waiting in the wings....cut 25%

Less workers = more office space

Plus, it's a cost save to the company!

Bill and Jim say win win
