Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Should I quit?

I'd like to hear if there is anyone here quit their job at Cisco to start a growing midsize company. I am thinking about it, because I find Cisco culture toxic and highly receptive. I have never worked in such a large company before and I have never felt this unmotivated in my job.

Any post-Cisco experiences? Hopefully in the lighter side

Arista, Zoom, Palo, Pensando are all ex-Cisco. There are dozens more, less successful. Aviatrix, Forward Networks, Witesand, etc.

A lot of people will soon be exiting tech to start or acquire their own business. Research, network, and constantly reality check yourself on expectations. Go for it!!

@b6 Try not to be an arrogant bully. That will harm you and the people in certain proximity to your toxic existence. I wrote in a mobile device without checking and realised I couldn't edit the post. But I wasn't aware I would trigger a miserable soul to unleash the poison. It's people like you I am trying to stay as far away as possible

OP, I understand why you're unhappy. It's mostly because you can't write and are a first order thinker, which results in you getting only the most basic of tasks that won't challenge you (b/c you clearly struggle when challenged).

Regarding your question....How many people do you estimate have left Cisco to "start a midsize company that is growing" who only have stories to share "on the lighter side"? Probably zero. If you exclude the second part of your requirement, you might have 5 people. And do you think they're hanging around on this site waiting for someone to ask for an AMA, instead of focusing on growing their midsize company?

And are you aware of what a growing midsize company becomes? Take your time....I'll wait.

To sum up: You are bat-sh!t crazy for thinking that anyone here could honestly answer your question, and I have a strong feeling you spend most of your time in a delusional existence.

@OP - Sounds like you've already made up your mind, but you can't rely on anonymous responses to decide for you.

Only you can answer that question yourself.
If you are in Bay area toxic culture exists in almost all companies here.
