An email sent to workers at the US Treasury Department’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service said DOGE’s Tom Krause is “currently” the CEO of the Cloud Software Group. Critics believe this could be a massive conflict of interest.

Vista and Eliott are thinking Tommy will bring many new government contracts to CSG. Fraud is great for me but not for thee.

Personal opinion: Vista, Elliott, Evergreen are probably 100% for it & might have even been their idea to send TK. Also, the intended benefits may not accrue to CSG, but to some other entity controlled by or related to the PE guys.

If you fire one person, you're a bad boss.
If you fire a hundred, you're a corporate restructuring expert.
If you fire thousands, you're a visionary CEO.

The VCs are probably fine with this if TK shares treasury data and sells more three years deals with the federal government.

How can Tom and other CEOs ethically work in the government and their private sector jobs ? The access to our personal data alone seems illegal and criminal at worst. And what about vendor conflicts where he and others can gain access to contracts their competitors have and how about undue influence for the government to buy from their businesses.

This is wrong on so many details and let’s not forget losing focus on the real job but I bet the Citrix employees welcome a break from Tom’s work to destroy the culture and Citrix departments for a few months.

"I, Thomas H. Krause, Jr., declare under penalty of perjury:

  1. I am employed as the Senior Advisor for Technology and Modernization at the Department of the Treasury. I started serving in this role on January 23, 2025. This role is currently unpaid, and I am not seeking compensation, as permissible by law. I am also designated as a Special Government Employee (SGE). While in this Treasury role, I have also maintained my employment as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cloud Software Group, Inc., which is a privately held company comprised of several enterprise software businesses.

Treasury’s ethics office determined, based on my role as an SGE, that this arrangement was permissible. "
