Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

LBT Trolls Employees

Did anyone notice LBT trolling employees by reminding us RTO coming up soon and how excited he is about it? Dave Z is salivating at people quitting because of RTO. What? I can get rid of expensive people like grade 10 chip designers for free? I can just replace them with grade 7 RCG's right?

Integrity and accountability has been the cure Intel has needed for a long long time, neither applied unfortunately. The company is in its death throws and here we have people whining about RTO.

We need a lot more cuts until the entitlement and political infighting cease.

@en just five years ago, was a bit after all those in the office TD engineers sunk the company by taking a pass on EUV. Culturally, TD still thinks they are the smartest, they obfuscate data from the company and customers, they lie about their targets, continuously, and we still haven't recovered from that.

@en There is more to Intel then the Fabs. If the fabs need that, then so be it.

@b5 is right for the product side, and even some of TD..

Blanket rules help nobody.

@en

Why is Intel HR on thid this site? RTO is terrible for the environment and terrible for employees. I can't see employees being stuck in traffic for hours each day being good for employees' health and productivity.

Does Intel not care about the environment and employees' health?

@b5 clearly you didn’t work in a fab role. Expectation for engineers was onsite everyday, that was the norm. LBT is pushing to bring that back. This isn’t some outdated 1980’s mindset… he wants engineers actually onsite and doing engineering things, going to the fab, knowing how their tools work, developing a robust process (not looking at SPC from their bed). This is how Intel operates just 5 years ago

Fabs already a damn traffic jam ! If they wanted to build it ! Do it 24/7 and bonus to qualified toolset that produce ! Intel is faded and going into Chapter 11 reorganization !

My biggest issue is this is not just RTO - it is RTO to 1980's standards.
Prior to covid, you were expected to get your job done. No one worried too much about where that was done from as long as you showed up a few days a week.

Several folks I know have meetings 7am-7pm. Why do these need to be in the office when you don't' have time to collaborate with coworkers in the first place.

These hard and fast rules are socks on head re--rded.

Oh, so it is ok for OP to infest this site with trolling, but when LBT does it, somehow that is over the line?

The whole industry is RTO.
Intel is behind again.

Downvote all you like, but everyone else is already back at the office.

Whining here won’t change anything, so you’re just yelling at a cloud.

RTO is a scam. It’s a power trip and we all know it
