Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Next round 02/19

According to a previous post, next round 02/19. Can anyone confirm that this is correct? And who is expected to be laid off?

@1g8 Yes, OI was hit in Jan and will be again in Feb. Lots of products being sunset. OH is still ramping up for offshoring to the Phillippines. Also if you are seeing Indians in your peer teams, it is because they are getting access for the work that will shift from you to them.

Saw a RIF list for people under my VP scheduled for February. A mix of offshore (mostly contractors) and onshore (mostly employees). The good leaders are seeing if there is room to take some of these people into their teams to save them from RIFs if skills align. I assume it's broader than just the one VP's org, so my guess is UHCT within Optum Tech is scheduled for the Feb RIF. But can't confirm, since I don't have actual insight past that.

Wanted to hop on here and share with you all some information around bonuses. I recently quit Optum after working there for 4 years and during that same period UHG stock price increased to record highs. During those 4 years of them exceeding expectations while getting the best year end review scores, I was never given more than a 60% multiplier. UHG is cheap- there is no other way of saying this. So for them to drop all bonuses after their stock price split in half is not shocking to me - its predictable.

@ep If bonuses will even be given. Many teams including mine in OptumCare were previously told in a town hall that there will be no bonuses or raises given in 2026 due to financial restraints.

So does anyone know what areas will be affected next month?

If they can lay off prior to bonus payout, that is a strategy they’ve used in the past

I can confirm this date is accurate and it will impact more of orx hd. I was one laid off yesterday and already knew about this date sadly. It is absolutely heartbreaking.
