Funny...That's what I thought when Oxy bought APC. Such a waste. Karma is a bi**h.

What a shame if any of this talk of layoffs and mergers are true. Oxy is a good company and we all would hate for it to end like this.

@b3

He-l, my day was ruined back in the Spring of 2019 when VH denied the shareholders (that includes 401K participants) a say on what is arguably the worst 'deal' the oil patch has seen.

But your point is taken.

Everyone that has been praising the so-called caring, people person CEO . . . well, it's time to pay your tab and move along to the next watering hole and hope they'll serve you there.

I'd be more concerned about Exxon Mobil coming in and ruining your day. Big players in the Permian. Strip the key assets, dump the staff and sell the remaining properties... Maybe MTex is hiring :-)

I don't think a merger as chevron is still swallowing all of Hess stuff

And you know this how @OP?

Vickie will be gone, Warren already gone. RJ will clean house with involuntary leave and much reduce severance. Getting ready for $ 45-50 barrel of oil. And possible merger with Chevron. My guess... Shedding more real estate. Keep in mind 2026 $40 barrel of oil is equal to $5.20 in 1970. Gas at 2026 price of 2.85 gallon is equal to 1970 .35 per gallon. It was tough back then to make a profit as it will be in 2026!

My guess is VH is stepping down and RJ will be the new CEO, followed by involuntary layoffs across the board.
