Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I used to love this place

But after watching round after round of layoffs gut morale and destroy any sense of quality, all I can think about now is how to get out. Honestly, it just makes me sad.

Tell Dell every year had "Would you recommend Dell as a place to work"?... for most of my 25 years i replied yes because i genuinely loved working there. Something happened during and after Covid and the culture changed.. not the same place since

Same here. I have been in Dell 10+ years.
I thought 2018 and 2019 Dell was really good. Then Covid came 2020 was very flexible with working from home.
After that everything started going downhill to the point where morale is gone for everyone, people are unhappy, lies, lies and more lies from upper management. No clear long term plan as a company. It's all about short term profit. (By making WFRs)

Each of us working in Dell have different personal circumstances (mortgages, families, loans, low savings) also IT market is not that great at the moment.
Otherwise most of people would have quit by their own.

Co: Why did they pick you? Because you like to fight?

Rambo: I’m expendable.

Co: What mean expendable?

Rambo: It’s like someone invites you to a party and you don’t show up. It doesn’t really matter.

I used to be very proud of my company and my role in its success. Now I feel that the company views us all as interchangeable parts.

I understand. It's in the back of my mind. It used to be very front and center for me but now I just try and move forward. It's hard though when their actions affect my work. Job market is bad for IT. This round of IT layoffs which is across many different companies feels very different from the past. Shareholders will demand financial success. The easy way to do it is to layoff people and to offshore.
