Interview in EDO any view

Hello I am interviewing for a role within EDO organization. Wanted to get perspective of the organization and leadership there. I am currently not working for Citi. The role is of Sr. Manager and they said it is C15 level. My background is heavy in Data.

@cg Yes it was so pathetic as if he is God. He is just another pathetic corporate shark to su-k the blood out of good people so his bonus can shoot up and then him and his cronies can take in millions in bonuses at the cost of investors and out the door to milk other cow. Mark my words EDO will be gone come October and then there will be new org called DO. In the past 4 years that is all they have accomplished- ECDO to CDO to EDO…just dropping a letter or rearranging it. So now E will be dropped and only DO will remain. Quite an accomplishment…LOL

Like you, I am a very seasoned data professional. Like most here, I do not recommend this at all. If you have a data background, prepare to be severely disappointed.

@c6 Speaking of Sycophants, AN was in Tampa, Florida this week.

Employees-Svckers were tripping all over each other trying to get a seat at his Townhall meeting on Thursday, 24 July. ROTFLMFAO!

King Lear's subjects were svcking his A$S. This happens in other cities too. So pathetic and sad.

@c4 I mean it's been 5 years since the consent order. Has enough meaningful progress been made after yearly repeat and rinse? Bullsh1tty is still pulling its hair out with publishing process, procedures and standards. What will you do if you were the OCC or the FRB and being toild that reinventing the wheel is progress while not actually fixing anything? At his level, AN or anyone else is not going to get years and months to show progress. I think the only reason he's still in the job is because Bullsh1tty doesn't know what to do wityh data...firing is easy but what next? Restart from scratch and take another fine? AN has doubled or tripled the headcount for data but other than letting his directs build an empire, he has achieved very little for the money spent.

His biggest mistake has been to surround himself with sycophants who are inexperienced in data and locking himself up in an ivory tower. What worked for him at Risk may not work for him at data because both are different beasts - he should know that at his level. A smart person would have taken a very close look at his or her staffing model to see whether the people chalked up to delivering for him or her is actually capable of it - right down to the SVP level. But, he's not done that. Anyway, who are we to give him advice....he's earning in the millions. He doesn't need advice from us

@aa you mean to say AN will be gone and then starting from scratch with the new boss? Rinse and repeat for 10 years 😂

@b2+1k0yb7vwy This is sarcasm right? Or if it this actually true you are probably trying to get the referral money. Keep in mind 6 months is the honeymoon period. So yoh may just be still on the new hire train. Just wait until annual review/raises/bonuses.

If you want a crazy amount of stress, legacy system data out the wazoo, and a manager whose a figure head, then go on to the interview. Most are coping or trying to get out tbh. If I had known the truth years ago or found this forum back then I would have kept looking.

@b2 lol has EDO hired a full time SVP to post rave reviews of themselves. Get real. EDO is a sh-tshow. Majority of the people there have no effing clue of what the data governance means. EDO = Effing Data Org
By the way what part of the EDO are you in? I am in Markets.

I have been in EDO for six months now. Coming from a peer and having read reviews here I was worried. However, it’s a breath of fresh air- highly analytical leaders, focus on technology driven execution and mentality to win. I’ve posted jobs in my team and for every role I’ve had 15+ applicants and many of my ex colleagues are applying. All the best!

C15 is a director role. These things really work on connections. Chances are high that the MD already knows who to bring in either via a personal connection or a very strong recommendation from an insider, but has to go through interviewing others for compliance purposes. I think Citi requires minimum 3(maybe 4) candidates to be interviewed. Still, there's a chance that yours might be a genuine interview but keep your hopes muted.
Also what the previous poster said about the EDO. Job security at Citi means bootlicking but I guess it's the same at most other banks. If you want to do just unimaginative compliance based defensive data work and are ready to kiss @ss then you might like being here. Don't expect cutting edge, offensive data work. Most data senior management have never worked a data job before in the EDO

EDO is a complete dumpster fire. The leadership is devoid of a single brain cell. However due to this consent order will likely drag on another 10 years so at least there’s job security.
