Thread regarding BNSF Railway layoffs

Be warned, have a witness, record conversations

Monitors for efficiency are back on property, all supervisors have been instructed to conduct more camera ops testing, and violate agreements if need be under the guise of insubordination. Any refusal will result in automatic being pulled from service pending investigation, senior employees have already been pre warned, and instructed that even good faith challenges will result in being pulled from service, with conduct becoming the leading charge, rather than the task being challenged.

I think in the next round of bargaining, the double standard of being a union employee and an exempt will go out the window, to hold roster positions and take detrimental action against a union you pay dues to whether as a relief or an exempt should never occurred or been allowed to continue.

@dz another huge mistake by union is allowing white hats to continue to pay dues. They in large part ruined and depleted the workforce. They should have 12 months after accepting exempt position to decide to stay with union or break ties which is standard in most union industries.

@d9 reliefs are su-k as--s looking for favorable treatment and to be the next exempt, biggest mistakes unions ever did was allow union members to act as exempts while filling non exempt positions.

@cw say what you want but it happens more than you think. Midnight relief foreman (non exempt) was videoing people sleeping and showing them to bosses. That was in our shop a few years ago. Weird behavior

@bv if you are that concerned about a rat, give the name, date, and time it was done so that the union growler can bring him up on charges, and fix your problem…otherwise your story is sketch at best

Hey guys, I’m exempt and let me tell you a good one. I had an employee record another employee trying to get him in trouble for something weird. I was like…. Thanks for the safety concern and dropped it. You guys need to stfu and quit ratting eachother out. You guys are terrible for that. It’s the same employees everytime thinking they are doing the company a favor. Stop, just stop

I’d hate to be an exempt here. HR lying about how secure you’ll be by breaking rules. Ours never has her door open and makes $150,000 a year with a $17,500 bonus (sb 32). At least they protect the worst of the worst of sc-m. I’d hate to affect people’s lives that way. Kicking them while they are down and trying to earn a living. Most people are on edge anyways and are on a bunch of meds so they can stay sane.

I too heard this, I am unsure of how it can actually occur, as such would would constitute a strike able offense, but such would require a court to not call it a minor dispute, and then would be subject to arbitration, I can see why and how BNSF could take such an approach, as judge shopping now is the determining factor. When this occurs it will be interesting in seeing now the unions response in representing their members

Just found out local union officers, were told that they can protest if they want to, but being pulled from service is the leaderships decision, and that employees would still be sent home if they good faith challenge under conduct, as general councils have determined that conduct can only be challenged at arbitration, and that employees are still allowed to be sent home.
