Do we have the date for phase 2 email?
@b6 nope. 6 hours a day commute and $500 a month for a train pass. I don’t live life worrying about others. I chose to live where I do and yes RTO is BS but it is what it is. I am not going to be mad at others. The fact is we should all be able to wfh this is just a bad company policy drive for two people who have the same initials JS.
They will supposedly be sharing Phase 2 information in April (but I’ll believe it when I see it.)
@b0 I, for one, would be beyond mad. If the company changes from remote/hybrid, that rule should apply to everyone. Sorry (not sorry.)
@aa You are RTO phase 1 and have no issues with it? Let me guess...you live in Manhattan...or like a 20 min commute from the office?
You certainly arent commuting 1.5 hours+ to the office.
The goal is to get rid of as many ppl as possible.
@aa I don’t think people will be mad per se, but it will create animosity and only force people to leave and continue to drag down productivity for those going into the office.
All it’s doing is saving that percentage of the workforce for those who are deemed the most valuable, like those with the highest titles.
The only way I can see saving face here is walking back in person to 3 or 4 days a week.
@a2+1k - Thank you for the information. What are the basing the continued remote employees on? Hours/position? Do you know when will they open the exemption filing to employees to fill out for phase 2?
@a3 Nobody should be mad at others. We cannot afford to lose anymore critical people. I am RTO phase 1 and I have no issues with it. The % is small, like 20% to 25% OF THE REMOTE workers in your org. So if you have 10 remote poeople 2 can stay remote.
People arent going to like this, both remote and rto. Sounds like favoritsm is in play here. How small is a small %?
Leaders are working on the "lists" now. You are allowed to mark a small % of people as continued remote. The rest need to be mapped to an office that is close. Doesn't have to be LA or NY. If you are not near an office and don't have an exemption, then you will need to move to an office, or you will be let go in the fall. The whole thing is absurd, making people sit in an office for no reason.
