Has anyone laid off in May (last day 6/10) received their severance yet?

@dc This is a good reminder that folks need to read the RIF paperwork they are signing and follow the instructions. You sign the paperwork after your last day and send it to the email listed. They will send you a confirmation email.
The standard severance agreement directs you to NOT sign the agreement until after your official end date. Once signed, the funds are normally disbursed within 2 or 3 pay periods.
In my case, I received my severance as a lump sum 24 days after signing.

its hush money just take it and go. they terminate so many people they got a bulletproof boilerplate by now. why would you hand severenace docs to a manager that was your first mistake. unless you in the club with an actualy employment contract good luck trying the legal action.
@dd I respectfully disagree. Challenge it with a strong law-firm and have them file EEOC complaints, especially when you feel they discriminated against and have documentation. Don’t take their 2 dollars while they give “X” millions to “celebrate the 250 event” and while they keep bullies and layoff hard-working, knowledgeable employees. This company is disgusting and every complaint brings them closer to a govt-body class-action that they can’t hide from with forged signatures on mandatory arbitration documents.
@dc Why was it submitted to your boss? I got my severance in 2 pay period and an ancklwedgement the received my paperwork by email same day.

@dc that was shysty of your boss. Severance doc should be sent to the general hr/legal mailbox, never directly to your boss.
@az Sorry to hear that. Did they have an HR person at your layoff? You can email that inbox and ask. That’s horrible to make you wait like this. 😡
@ar I received my severance about 3 weeks after my last day of employment when I was laid off a couple months ago. But I would recommend not challenging with an attorney...I have a few previous coworkers who tried to do that and they were advised that UHG has most of these layoff decisions so buttoned up it usually ends up being a waste of money. I had a pretty decent case for discrimination and even the person I spoke to with Employee Relations thought there were major red flags but the way she described the behind the scenes conversations with HR and Legal before determining who is on a RIF list sounded like it would put severance at a major jeopardy and then add on the cost of hiring an attorney.
Just my two cents...but I sure do wish someone could win a case against UHG for a RIF because it is such a terrible business practice - esp when they typically list the roles again within a few weeks at different grade levels!
@b6 I reached out. They never received my severance agreement. I submitted it to my boss and she never turned it in. I had to send it to severanceagreement@ugh.com. Hate this company.
I received mine in Friday. Call HR Direct they can look up the date it’s due to be deposited.
Yeah, I signed it and submitted it to my bosses boss. They said 1-3 pay periods. Next week will be 3 I think.
Strange question. Don’t you get your severance two weeks after signing and returning the document? Didn’t you sign it?
You can also not sign and get an attorney to challenge it.
