So now the rumors are that any layoffs will be in February, once the impact of OPO closing and related resignations can be seen. Likely reorgs across the board. With so many resignations, will there even be layoffs? Thoughts?

@1bt also was 1 month away from having to be paid severance
Just got let go today after an ironically comical interview with an internal group I have never heard of before but if you have ever seen the movie office space where they are asking "what is it you do here exactly?" it was almost spot on the nose! So be aware if you get pulled into a "confidential meeting" something coming down on you no matter what is said! Speaking as a corporate employee who was at Service Desk.
Has anyone heard anything about the remote policy? Rumors went from town hall in October for remote people then to November.
Is the risk completely gone?
Next week
@az when you say “left to specialty” do you mean outside of Walgreens?
They obviously will want yo make it a more profitable business so they can sell it for more money. But this is not a business they have been in before. It’s pharmacy business not selling underwear or staplers. If they take wrong steps and make mistakes that end up affecting patients then there are huge fines from the government. And Walgreens knows that best. They should make changes but not like closing OPO where the people who could prevent situations above quit because of changes like that. Making changes that are not well thought will create issues for the company. So I suggest they better know what the effects are going to be before making decisions about Layoffs and take care of people. Better RTO policy etc. Staples has three day policy. Walgreens before the pandemic had three day policy.
Hint from someone who's been through this with PE: An annoucement of changes will be made of policy changes to benefits, severance or other employee benefits. The layoffs will happen very soon after.
@ar Org changes are already happening. I know at least 1 VP left for Specialty, and they are telling people changes are coming, but delayed due to the VP's "sudden departure". They knew about it for a while. They're delaying the Org change until layoffs are announced.
I don't have confirmation but I believe the layoffs will be coming later this month or early next month. There was a Town Hall that was going to be scheduled for January and now it's being moved to February. They probably want to get rid of the people they are cutting and then have a big meeting to try and calm the people who are left.
Make no mistake though, there WILL be more layoffs and Org changes this year!
January still is what I am hearing
