Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Profit over employees

As long as that remains true, nobody's job is safe. And before somebody comes at me with that's just corporate America, there was a time at Ford when we had both profit AND care for employees. It hasn't been the case for a while now, but I'm old enough to remember it, so I know it's possible.

"The company must hire and retain people based on skill and accomplishment, not some arbitrary DEI, agist quota."

I think you meant DUI. There are plenty of Caucasian alcoholics and dr-g addicts that tend to fail upward. In recent history there was an electrician at a certain plant in Sterling Heights that routinely went home on his breaks and came back to work absolutely blasted pretty much everyday. Matter of fact he had so many DUIs that his driver's license was revoked, so he biked to work. Everyone knew he was an alcoholic and drunk at work. But he has the complexion for the protection of the collection so he remained employed.
I can say without any ambiguity that DUI hires negatively impact the company at every level.

No profits = No Employees = No Company.

I order to be profitable the company must create products that people want to buy. In order to create the good products the company must have creative and talented people, not those who are only there for a paycheck.
