Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Technical Specialist Roles

I noticed there are many Technical Specialist roles open at Ford. Are those positions considered safe, or do they tend to get laid off sooner than other roles?

Farley is a shameful bracketphobe and should be cancelled from civilized society...

Harvard and the Ford Foundation should have their tax exempt status revoked then apologize for being anti-bracket.

Just stay away from the bracket group.

Just like Jim fartly says… ford vehicles don’t use brackets anymore

Many of these TS’s if not all were top achiever as SG8. So people need to quit being re--rded here. Organization was targeted then age(pensioner) then race.

If Ford couldn’t import people and had to get employees from the domestic pool of candidates, they would HAVE to start hiring some of these “ballast” fires you talk about.

These are bad employees

These were employees who had a pension and employees of the same age who didn’t just to avoid legal action. Also young people were fired fo-e the same reason.

Why do you want to bring someone back once they have been let ho with a severance pay. These are bad employees in the first place. They are old and have no use for the company. Invest in younger and smarter people.

Std practice for anyone getting involuntary separation and is offered severance package won’t be rehired by Ford. Extremely rare for HR to buy in. The great purge of 22 and 23 was all from Farley. If anyone knows of a rehire let’s hear it.

@az+1jrqjm5mb if they really need them back, they can modify the agreements.

He must’ve done something that made them shoot their shot like Davis from New Orleans (NO). But why shoot before the no? Did they tell em no? Or did they use the shot after they were waiting

@az+1jrqjm5mb How are you aware of this. Only a certain type of situation gets that clause included. They go a bit deeper that you left out for a rainy day

Ford fired many TSs in 2022 and 2023 especially in ICE powertrain because they were not needed with the billion dollar EV push by Fartley. Now they are sc--wed and they can’t bring them back because if you at cut HR will not allow them to come back as part of the severance agreement.

Why does Ford even bother with tech experts, sme or these other legacy roles?

I thought HTHD positions were the successor to these as Ford moved into more high tech software and data areas.

SME = 32 YEARS OF AGE
IF CONSISTENT

The reality is that it takes 10+ years to become a legit SME / TS. A lot of those were let go with SRD and are always an easy target. Anointing F&F to those roles will not help quality. More of a political move unfortunately.

What is your age and do you have a masters? Just want to be realistic first. There is an acceptance criteria.

Well, you need a particular set of skills. Walking fast, carrying parts sometimes, doing your job in an advisory capacity. You need to be careful to let the D&R make the decisions, if a recall is possible, due to insufficient institutional knowledge.
