To all of those like @az+1jkgfew1t that are so worried about the affects on frankserv of all of this supposed "time theft", especially on WFH days. You keep saying you were hired for a certain number of hours at a certain time. Its funny that you're telling on yourself. You're the Mcdonalds workers frank keeps talking about every quarter. You can be replaced with a fresh trainee that is up to speed in a few weeks.
Me, and several people I work with are highly skilled technologist hired to perform a technical function, generate substantial amounts of revenue, or to solve complex problems your brain probably can't begin to understand. I wasn't hired to punch a clock. I was hired to do a job.
The company knows this too, which is why they hired me on a salary, and not a wage. They KNOW that a salary means I'm meant to do a job, and that in doing that job, if I occassionally get done 3 hours before the guy next to me doing the same thing, then it's none of their business. And if I want to step away and chat about video games for 30 minutes with a few other high achievers that did the same as me, that isn't a problem. Because they also know the flip side is true. If a system blows up 15 minutes before quiting time, and I have to stay and work for another 15 or 20 hours, I'm there doing it, because I'm not there to punch a clock, I'm there to do a job.
