Is it true there was another round of layoffs for people taking 6 hours breaks? How do you even get caught??

I used to do home invasions now I just work in Def Met.
I used to do home invasions now I just rob the time clock
I don't believe OP knows he has already been caught.
LMAO you people are d-mb nerds if you think all of these tools are being utilized. There will still be plenty of lifers around who milk it in every way possible.
HR & IT have a team that constantly scans for company policy violations on the network, and they go into overdrive when there is a call to generate performance-based terminations.
If you get invited to a meeting with IT, know that you will have about 5 minutes to explain why you should not be terminated, and the chance of success is very low at that point.
That will be you LDI (Last Day at Intel).
Speaking for a friend.
Intel has an app called Azure on all laptops. It's a spy app that even has a key logger. Intels HR will wait in the parking for employees to leave while they record them. Also, your badge tells Intel when you come and go from campus. It all gets scanned.
Some have bragged that they do laundry, cook and do house chores during the Teams meetings. They all try to beat each other in laziness and some have claimed that they no longer get dressed or shower when WFH. They called it the work life balance.
What's wrong with people?
It won't be 'another' round, but rather it will be a substantial portion of 'the' round of layoffs.
Middle managers gonna take a hit. Some execs gonna be pushed out, as their business units are shuttered or sold.
Fabs gonna get a major restructuring, but that was going to happen anyway and it will go on for a year or more.
Then there is the substantial number of low performers, who did not take their job seriously over the past year, when they really, really should have done so.
The other posters are right about how HR leverages data to find and terminate with cause those who are violating policy. It is a cost effective and an efficient way to improve the overall performance of the company.
Watch and learn. Or don't if you prefer to remain so clueless about what it takes to manage a career.
@az Not to go all RTOpalooza, but unless you are a remote worker then there are both company and business unit hybrid policies which include a minimum number of days in the office per week.
I mention this because a lot of employees have failed to be in the office at all.
This is exactly the sort of policy violation that HR loves to exploit during headcount reductions.
If the company goes for the largest possible restructuring then HR will be looking at everything possible to ensure that most of those who are leaving fit various 'low-performer' profiles.
Like the other poster mentioned, this is the sort of thing that is happening all across tech. If anything, Intel has been soft on its workers.
It's a bit late to make a difference in the next round of CPM hunger games, but do know that HR aggressively seeks terminations for cause when the company is doing headcount reductions.
It is the perfect time to shed those who are violating company policy. They otherwise mostly rely on reporting to catch those people.
There is no severance package or unemployment when an employee is terminated for cause, making it a win-win for Intel.
have a nice day
@az+1 I assume you know that your laptop has a camera too.
Keyboard content is also monitored as well as various measures of productivity.
If you are on site then you've got an assigned workstation, and both the RFID in your badge as well as the cameras are recording your movement.
Nothing special or unique about any of this. Tech companies have been escalating employee monitoring for years and many other large companies do the same.
When they need to do headcount actions, this data can be rolled up and with AI, it doesn't take much effort to rank and yank the low performers.
Think about it. If you are a productive employee, you don't waste time hanging out in the cafe, sleeping in your car, posting gibberish on various social media sites and such.
The people who are recorded doing those things are not useful employees to any company.
it's coming..
@ay don't most of us work from home ?
Cameras have had AI for some time now.
Not smart to sleep in your car or be away from your normal place of work for hours at a time.
Someone actually got caught? Where can I read the news ?
It was like one guy
Camera, facial recognition onsite, algo tracking people, whether real or not, we will see.
Pfft. Like it makes any difference.
