in sept, our team went was cut in half, our manager was let go and replaced with a manager who is spread way too thin across multiple teams. we get hundreds of leads a day, and it's pretty much impossible to get through them all, much less give them each the attention they deserve/need, on top of all the other stuff we need to do. most days im working 10-12 hours and still can't get through everything that needs to be done! it's really affecting our team, and with the recent layoffs, im confident we wont be getting more team members added to help out. it's incredibly stressful and awful.

I think it's interesting that you are getting paid OT/allowed wo work OT when, as an AC as well, we are told there is no budget for it and are not allowed to work OT even though it would obviously help us catch up...
Are you a degree AC? There are enough kpis that don’t absolutely have to be finished in a day that you should not feel required to work overtime to hit KPIs. If you do feel that way- talk to your director or vp or another director you trust if for some reason there are concerns with yours (same for your manager). My director is open to conversation, wants us escalating this stuff and pushed hard to get us to fully staffed (we were understaffed too until very recently and are playing major catch up). And while there won’t be new hires - if your team is truly understaffed vs just a short period of overwhelm as staffing gets figured out - there should be other ACs available to support, even if just “on loan”. I hope you feel comfortable reaching out or encouraging your manager to reach out.
Sounds like a scene out of Glengarry Glen Ross...or Boiler Room.
OP: they will toss you to the curb the moment it suits them. there is zero - _zero_ - reason to do anything past the bare minimum for these creeps.
What @axe+1qDiBGfU said is accurate: anything over 40 hours is you giving them your work for free. "Above and beyond" means nothing to them.
Well that context you shared about getting overtime and it being a choice for you all to do so makes this an entirely different scenario than you first alluded to…
There is no world where you all should be working that much and if you all stopped putting in the overtime I hit the standard metrics given they wouldn’t have a leg to stand on to keep pushing overtime. I wish you all luck!

@axe+1qDiBGfU i get paid overtime. im unsure how i'm "allowing" myself to be taken advantage of--im not looking for a medal, im trying to make sure im putting the work in like everyone else on my team is, who are also putting in many hours of overtime. i get your point, i dont have to work overtime unless i want very poor KPIs. just wish we had some extra hands on deck!
Why are you working more than your allotted 40 hours? If you are you should be putting in for overtime and if that’s not granted then stop overworking. You don’t get a medal for going above and beyond and if that’s an expectation then as an IC you would have to be getting paid for overtime unless you aren’t putting in their hours.
I’m sure it’s tough with a smaller team but you are allowing yourself to be taken advantage of in this scenario.
