Thread regarding CVS layoffs

C’mon guys, don’t expect any payoff for hard work here

Talent, dedication and experience have again been targeted. This has been happening every single time for the past couple of years. Please, treat the company the way it treats you. Come in, do the bare minimum, collect your paycheck and try to have other options available. At least you will have no regrets over putting too much time and effort into your work when they unceremoniously boot you.

@awo+1uOb6B3u that's all well and good but here is the bottom line since the acquisition the year end scoring and bonuses have completely been reworked and not to the betterment of the talent. CVS has every year with and without layoffs scoring talent with average scores and cutting back their bonus. It's only new hires that's getting fair market wages. You literally have to quit and come back again to get what the other healthcare insurance employees are getting.
You have the exodus of talent leaving (domestic and forgien) to the competitors. And with good reasons!

There isn’t any talent at CVS. Bunch of MBAs that sit behind a desk that never worked in a store.

I have always ignored the "family" work culture. It's a job in a for profit corporation. I don't expect loyalty from my employer. I know I will be fired the second they don't need me. I'll also quit the second a better job comes along.

I don't agree with the "quitting quietly" culture you describe. My hard work has always earned me larger pay raises from annual performance reviews, larger bonuses, promotions, and even some unscheduled pay increases in recognition of efforts. If you are a nameless face in a dead end job, don't ki-l yourself doing more than the minimum, but for most jobs extra effort pays off.
