Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Most of you are embarrassing

I come on the site to see what people are writing and thinking. I think is hilarious how most of you just complain and some of you call MD and JC names and how they are id--ts. You do realize MD created a $100B company and he is one of the richest Individuals in the world and JC Is the COO who has made millions. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!

You guys are brave coming on this platform with no ideas, no solutions insulting individuals hiding behind your screen. If you are so miserable then quit. You know why you don’t leave, because you probably realize no one would want to hire you.

Agree. Just quit if you hate it so bad or are independently wealthy. It's just a job and paycheck. Get a life.

@OP - I think you will find that many of the posters here do have ideas and care about the company. They are just dismayed at the opacity of the C-level officers’ and the next level down managers’ for short and long term plans.

They fill out the Tell Dell with care and even make thoughtful comments and suggestions only to see the company spin even the most negative results into a positive.

We do care about the company and want to do a good job with what we are given. We would just like a little honesty and loyalty as to the plans of Dell.

My theory is the company is planning on spinning off the laptop and desktop biz to another Asian manufacturing, like IBM did with Lenovo, and concentrate of AI services, high-speed high capacity storage, and servers. Maybe even start pinning hopes on stable quantum computing.

‘He’s rich’ isn’t an argument - it’s an appeal to status, and it doesn’t make someone automatically right. Running a $100B company says nothing about a person’s ability to recognize a bad decision, spot a good opportunity, or at least listen to the people around them.
Even billions can be lost within a split of a second.
Kodak, once worth billions, still collapsed because its leadership ignored the future. Imagine what might have happened if they hadn’t sidelined the internal execs and engineers who were pushing for a digital transition.

Well, just like any corporation... peons don't exactly have a say in anything and even if you have a genius idea, leadership will take credit for it and you get left with nothing.

Even "tell dell" is a joke. The one time a year employees get to voice their opinions is taken and skewed by leadership so it fits the narrative. There is zero way leadership would ever present the TD results if the results were terrible. Meaning they absolutely alter them for show. And it's blatantly obvious too.

Long story short, if you aren't a VP then your voice, opinions, and ideas quite literally do not matter.

I agree with your statement about MD but not for JC. I absolutely give him (MD) credit because he actually did build a company from nothing and made it work. Apparently from only $1000 but, regardless; he made it into a multi-billion dollar company either way.

MD started his "business" in '84 but it wasn't "Dell" until '87 as in those years he did quite well and made enough to make it something more than just a hustle. So, in '87 is when Dell really became a company.

JC was hired on in '87 as a Quality Engineer and because the company was small, he was promoted faster than normal but didn't become COO until 2019. Which is when the company ironically began falling apart.

It's not exactly difficult to rise in the ranks when you start at a company's dawn of existence because you become friends and close to the... founder! So, from '87 to 2019, JC got special treatment and was given priority for promotions simply because he was there from the beginning.

That doesn't make someone a good COO, though. The problem is that JC is NOT a good COO and MD doesn't have the ballz to fire him and/or find a new COO at this point.

JC is unimpressive as a leader.
MD is a cheapskate and irrelevant in any tech capacity.
Dell is a toxic mid grade company located in cowtown, usa.
They are both wealthy.

All the above are facts.

@OP

You sound like a loyal, senior-level employee who feels a personal connection to these people. Share some positive stories that would change our minds.

@OP Spoken like a true su-k-up.

Yes MD and JC are rich. Off the backs of those who labor at Dell and those of us cast aside for a few more basis points.

If the WFR ever hit you, I wonder if you will be so condescending then?

@OP You see the irony here right ? you literally are embarrassing yourself and making this site toxic idk what for.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? - literally this is the best you can do?

I don’t shitpost about md or jc, but i also wouldn’t consider them good in any sense. Thousands of layoffs are thousands of lives just ruined especially considering how hard it is out there while amassing record profits and getting 132million compensation package , how does that make you happy !? you probably a fan of elon musk too right ?

people come here to talk about their frustration and share the burden, no one is asking you to come here show us your privilege and sh-t on everyone just because you think you’re better than the rest.

please learn some empathy and start thinking about making people responsible and caring towards others
