I don't believe smart people want RTO. Only un skilled id--t power point sharing people like RTO so they can easily ask for help or taking other people credits.

If the company does not care who did what, but only use RTO to judge who should be laid off, this is very stupid. You are losing talents. Stupid Intel.

@ar I never understand why in every one of these threads someone like you has to explain the benefits of WFH. Employment is pretty basic stuff, you work for an employer, the employer defines your job requirements, your employer made a decision to mandate work is done from the office. You have 2 choices comply or quit. It isn't a debate. Come into the office and do a half a$$ed job to get even and you will find yourself unemployed in one of the toughest job markets ever. Get over it, you had a good run.

I'll never understand the people on these threads who think that working from home means you don't work, it's frustrating where ELT has taken that tone as well. We're three rounds of layoffs in after three years, people weren't slacking, even if they were not physically on site. In my group we were almost entirely WFH and working 50 hours weeks as a matter of course.

Ironically enough WFH makes it easier to work longer hours because that project was always right in the next room, ready to be picked up again in the evening. Now to drive attrition, the ELT is asking me to give up an hour and a half of my day for a commute. I'll still end up taking my work home, but, I can't work the same amount in the evening and keep up with household tasks if the commute is stacked on.
