Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

There is no career ta GF

People should understand with 15-20% attrition rates the average person will spend 5-6 years max with GF and then move onward. There is no career at GF just a bunch of washed-up senior leaders trying to keep their jobs as they continue to run the company into the ground. Anyone who joins or stays at GF it should be about short-term dollars, get as much as you can in a short time and then move onward. Again, there is no career at GF so get as much for short-term compensation as you can. Ask for max salary, ask for RSUs, ask for retention bonuses, get job offers from other companies and make GF match or exceed, if they need your skillset they will have to pay. Get every dollar you can from GF during your limited time and then leave with your bank account maximized!!!

OP @6hhd+1lCGLjco Is there someone who disagrees?

With no loyalty from companies anymore especially at GF, the approach @OP is suggesting above is the right one. Financially squeeze GF for everything you can and then leave once you can't squeeze anymore out.

There's a strong likelihood you worked at GF at some point. What does that say about you @OP, @atz? Self-deprecation?

Let me guess, you're exceptions to the rule. You rose above it all and rode your high horses out of town? 🐎🤠

I disagree. There is a career for b@tt lickers and your run of the mill local unskilled people. Everyone else, either quits or gets laid off when GF can’t afford them.
