Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Exhausted

The reorg is poorly done, I am exhausted. No vision on what to do next? Is I am the only person feeling this way?

Been at Citi for 19 years and this is by far the most fu---d up situation I have seen. My team was gutted and manager was moved onto somewhere else. I am tasked to lead the team and fall under a new manager who wants to change everything up to make a name for themselves. I am working on an exit plan and hope to be gone in 3-6 months. Never thought I would leave Citi, but after this I am pretty much done

It clearly matters to YOU that her predecessors were male, otherwise you would not have made the specification. By virtue of the CEO being female, she can't be criticized, right? It's unfair and unjust? She's only being criticized because she's female? That's the talking point, correct?
The reaction you received? That's exactly what you're wanting. Otherwise, again, you would not have specified her gender.
In a reversal - if the current CEO was male and the predecessors were female, would you have specified gender? I think we all know the answer to that.
What's actually funny here is YOUR bias.

So far the reorg not going well and there is no transparency. Org charts are not available. It feels that even managers are kept in the dark. Weird that this site is more reliable than within the company.

What are you all hearing across the entire company? Is the reorg bad across the entire company? In other words, is it being handled as bad in both revenue and non revenue business units?

Yes, I concur that it is exhausting. It’s really unfortunate.

@pjc+1rRULxAL Lol. She made her own messes. Look at this joke of a reorg. Yes. It's exhausting and frustrating like a bunch of dogs chasing their tails. No one knows who's doing what and so is much on hold.

Correct, it does not matter that her predecessors were male. It does matter that she may be cleaning up a years long creation. Funny also is the reaction I received from you about the mention of male predecessors.

“ Truly the person with the toughest job at this point is the CEO. While she could argue that she’s cleaning up after her male predecessors, the Board and Large Investors will seek out a new CEO if this does not turn out well.” - - - Yeah, we all feel sorry for her. I mean if the board lets her go, what’s she going to do? How will she make it? If only there was a way we could give her even more money to help her prepare should this happen.

Why does it matter so much to you that her predecessors were male?

There are growing pains and will be for some time as folks adjust to promotions or demotions and folks are now (at least technically) peer to those they once reported to. Time will tell. Truly the person with the toughest job at this point is the CEO. While she could argue that she’s cleaning up after her male predecessors, the Board and Large Investors will seek out a new CEO if this does not turn out well.

My Org is splittled with VP's and SVP's reporting to same Director. The project is split between the VP and SVP's. The SVP grabbed all the critical reports of the VP. Its going to be a survival fight between VP's and SVP's now.
