What’s next? Detailed reporting for lost productivity time going to the bathroom?

How many seconds did it take to walk to and from the restroom and your desk?
How long it take to do a #1? do a #2?
How many times did you wipe?
Did you wash and dry your hands?
Did you socialize with anyone in or on your commute to from the lavatory?

Ah yes, Lean Six Sigma is all about eliminating waste, no pun intended!

🎵 Every breath you take
And every move you make
Every bond you break, every step you take
Sammy-San will be watchin' you!
🎵

They should really put their focus on improving their English before they start implementing stupid changes like this that won’t benefit anyone or the company.

If there was a worker’s union, that would have been discussed and probably not agreed but definitely negotiated. Kobayashi’s policies are straight out of a micromanagement book and what not to do. Because I liked him at one point, I thought he was a standout guy just right before he became a Sr. director, I recommend you read.
How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter by Liz Wiseman.

You will learn!

1. Talent Magnet – Recognize and attract great people, then use their talents fully
2. Liberator – Create an environment where people feel safe to think and contribute
3. Challenger – Set stretch goals that encourage growth and creative thinking
4. Debate Maker – Facilitate healthy debate and collective decision-making
5. Investor – Give others ownership with accountability and support

But your biggest issue is believing that American workers don’t have the best interests at heart for the company. If you can get around that it will be your first step forward.

2nd- stop bringing yes people into your organization, that mean every single expat coming and working for you!

My time there has complemented but there are lots of good American workers left!

The real question is: who's driving the clown 🤡 car? It's going to wind up in a ditch or worse.

To all my fellow colleagues,

Directors and managers will push the message but they can’t control if you are on cam during a meeting.

I wouldn’t let this bother you. This is just another annoying tidbit in an effort to make your life miserable.

I wish Sammy and all managers pushing this stupid agenda the best of luck in this new policy you are looking to push.

Sammy needs to wear a clown suit because it fits him to a T. And one last thing: bet smart money these "negative comments on the Internet" remark he made last year still get under his thin skin. Sure, he's drawing big bucks now but shareholders are watching him as well. Bad PR will shrink their dividends.

Recommend everyone blacken a few teeth to make it look like folks are toothless. It would drive Sammy Boy crazy. 😂

The whole company should turn their cameras on simultaneously during the Kickoff meeting on Wednesday and give King Kobayashi the double middle finger.

I don't think everyone here understands what a gift of a policy this is.

everyone should buy a usb-stick and document a copy of the HR-policy away from company hardware.
then start calling managers or figures of ill-repute with business related questions.
when they do not show up on screen then follow the policy.
screencap the empty profile picture of the call store it on the usb-stick and file an ethics complaint for violation of policy to HR or the ethics-portal (which can be anonymous)
then keep doing it day after day only with relevant business related questions (keep it compliant folks) and following the policy of being on screen and screencapping the calls.
I bet after a month of policy violations they drop it all together.

Micromanaging BS. Honestly, pointless actions like this represent one of two things; leadership completely bereft of impactful ideas, OR increasing microaggressions aimed at forcing people to leave without having to pay severance.

Either option is pathetic, weak, and representative of a flaccid leadership group who are the first people who should be replaced.

No wonder this company is tanking. They spend more time to trying to figure out ways to literally put toothpicks under our finger nails. Wonder how much money was lost with management dreaming this cr-p up? One more productivity hit. Je-kweeds!
