Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The energy in the office is always low

I swear, RTO has destroyed the little morale that was left. Plus, it gave more room to a--holes who want to climb the ladder by doing nothing but exploiting the system (like staying late just to look good, not because the work demands it). There was zero need for this.

@d1 I meant to say FTW, not RTO. I agreed with RTO! FTW was definitely the death of my team! Those that moved are now unhappy and as for those that were force separated, we can't backfill due to hiring freeze!!

I hear tell the C suite is thinking of rolling out some electro-shock “therapy” to liven all us worker bees.

Absolutely agree—it’s not just the death of morale, it’s the double death.
RTO ki-led flexibility, and the daily desk scramble without assigned seating finished off whatever sanity we had left.

Now we’ve got performative late-stayers, fake smiles, and “collaboration” that’s really just background noise.
And to top it off? Leadership sits comfy with their assigned offices while we get ice cream like good little peasants.

There was zero need for this mess—just ego-driven decisions dressed up as “culture.”

I love the Return To Oneness. Can you say "collaboration"? I knew you could.

"Costco runs and golf games during work hours spoiled entitled employees. Fun time over. Get into the office and work."

You meant to say: Get into the office and ... join a bunch of Teams calls with your colleagues, work on version 32 of your powerpoint, and spend $17 for lunch in our awful cafeteria.

There fixed it for you @ap

Can we stop calling them “roles?” We are not trying out for the school play. They are jobs. HR speak is not welcome.

@cq

It was merely an "ask"? Well then, anyone should have been free to decline without consequence. How did that play out?

Agree RTO was the death of T. The ONLY reason many are still here is it coincided with a major downturn in the job market. Very difficult to get a new job right now. When that pendulum shifts (and it will). All these companies forcing this garbage are going to have a hard time filling roles. ATT is already having a hard time filling roles. Nobody wants to work here.

@c6 you seem so jealous of anyone who got to work from home because you couldn't. Cry baby

“Instead of reprimanding those who did, the Stank decided to sc--w everyone.”

By asking employees to work in the office? Boo hoo.

You know you were golfing and Costco runs before RTO. No one believes your denial, no matter how hard you try.

OP-

As you stated ZERO need for RTO, especially for people that had WFH for YEARS before COVID and have no need (coworkers not in same office/same state).

This is the new CULTURE.

low IQ & attempt to hide the truth if you believe or claim that RTO is connected to golf or Costco runs

"the majority of the people didn't do Costco runs or golf."

This is accurate. Most were too busy running daycare at home and doing laundry while binging shows.
