Thread regarding Cargill layoffs

The layoffs will continue until morale improves

Does anyone else feel like this is “the layoffs will continue until morale improves?”
I’ve heard of US, CA, MX, UK impacts-. Apparently the announcements will continue to be provided this week as HR could not get a hold of all individuals earlier on Monday and Tuesday.
It hadn’t even been a year since the last round to figure out “a new way of working”- where “we are not asking you to do more with less but to just stop doing the non-value work” I’m still waiting to know what is defined as the non-valued work. I also find it crazy that after a profitable quarter one we continue to lay off employees.

@a7 common saying in the US "the beatings will continue until morale improves." Opposite being "thanks for all your hardwork and earning us bazillion of dollars, here's a pizza party!"

@bn well said, especially if the outside in leaders came with barely any external experience and that too from other failing cpgs! Joke is on you Mr. CEO!

This is what happens when you "bring th outside in" at the executive level.

Improve ROI/Profits by cutting costs, take home obscene bonus, then leave before the lack of growth becomes obvious.

It will be several years before Cargill will stop laying off. So many companies fall in this trap and cant turnaround growth. The culture becomes cutthroat and defensive. Now that they have done it once or twice, leaders wont flinch to inflict more pain on the organization and reduce more teams.

For those affected, what was the reason given? Position not needed anymore? Redundancy? Performance? Location? Other?
