I’m in a different country to the US. We’ve had calls discussing our ability to pick up the workload in the event the OKC team were to go “offline” for extended periods.
I mean, wouldn't be surprised... The OKC office is pretty slim in regards to employees.
@fz Reminds me of the time they said we would definitely not go back onsite. Or the time they said it was definitely no more than 2 or 3 days a week. Or the time they said we'd definitely get raises and promotions if we went onsite, but those dirty remotes wouldn't be elligible anymore. Or the time they said they valued our input. Or the-
@a3 Not many. Parking lot is mostly empty
It was addressed in an onsite meeting I heard from a friend in OKC. The message was stop the rumors the site is not closing. But my friend said the onsite meeting before that the message was we aren’t making any site improvements, quit asking. So who knows?
IDK. Literally this time last year the rumor was August 2025. Now it's August 2026.
How do we know they won't keep playing the "Will They Won't They Sh-t In A Pot" game?
Of course it’s real. Big focus on opex cuts including people, travel and travel reimburse, company paid phones going away, free lunches to keep you in the building, basically anything that cost money.
Management: "We are going Global"
Actually this is the name of a team in India that is in charge of taking calls from the US.
Yes expect more cuts certainly.
Dell is actively shifting its operations out of the U.S. and into other countries, so cutting headcount in American offices fits that plan. But with the major geopolitical shifts happening between two countries right now, that entire strategy—and even Dell’s survival as a company—could be at risk. Global events are nearly impossible to predict, but from my perspective, their approach runs completely against the direction the world is moving in. So, you can expect more layoffs in the short term with a question mark on the future of these business decisions.
@as
August 2026
Relocate was only offered for RR or Nashville
It feels plausible, but I only have heard it here or from people that use thelayoff.
@a2 When? That rumor's been floating for well over a year now.
ALL IN*
- offer only valid for some. The rest of you can go ahead and report to your new manager, WFROperations@dell.com
I heard the same, gonna ask some employees to relocate to the RR offices.
How many employees in OKC
Yes it is.
