@ar+1k1v4vzby Bullsh-t. Ethnic Indians that grew up in the US are great. The combination of their cultural focus on education combined with US standards makes them excel. Many of the Indians we import are arrogant because they are used to the cast system they came from. They are also used to being the smartest people where they came from and don’t give Americans any credit for knowing anything. They mistake courtesy for lack of competence. They don’t know what they don’t know and they cluster together. Ignorant non-technical American managers mistake this arrogance for confidence and aren’t equipped to judge competence. The Indians in India are used to 3rd world standards and don’t produce the same quality work. However, American bean counters can’t tell the difference and don’t want to know because the labor is so much cheaper.

I've spent time living in both Europe and the U.S., and while each has its pros and cons, Europe seems to offer a slightly better overall quality of life. There’s more personal time, longer holidays, affordable healthcare, and significantly better food. If you lose your job, there’s a safety net, and paying off a mortgage doesn’t take decades—more like 10 to 15 years. You might not earn as much as in the U.S., but the savings from public benefits and reduced costs really add up. That said, Europe has major downsides too: uncontrolled immigration, a lack of social unity, weakened national independence due to EU policies, and the constant threat of conflict with Russia.

I’m sorry to say this but there’s nothing good left about the USA. It’s not just Dell, it’s the system in itself.

Cr-p government, cr-p healthcare system, cr-p food, barely any days off, cr-p labour laws and protection and so on.

That said, Europe is slightly better but it has its problems too and salaries are quite lower than in the US and taxes higher.

There aren’t many “good” countries in this world when it comes to being treated humanely.

India has the jobs but everyone wants out from there and they are constantly looking for ways out.

The system is messed up everywhere!

Because Dell wants cheap labor. Look at Round rock office. There are more non Americans in no sales roles.

Shareholders need to see growth/profit and when it isn’t happening organically, you create artificial growth/profit by cutting out costs. Salaries are expensive and people do not matter in these equations. If you think they care, you are severely mistaken.

Perhaps if there weren’t so many of you, widespread poverty wouldn’t be such an issue. And stop relying on Americans to provide you with jobs, things won’t stay the same for much longer.

Indians are more qualified and better educated in specialist skills than Americans. You look around the Silicon Valley, it's mostly run by ethnic Indians and best performer in Ai and Software development are Asian. Education is the only way to get out of poverty in Asian countries and they are driven by it as a child. In American, most deprive areas turn to dr-gs, alcohol, and music to lift themselves out of poverty.

You’re taking jobs away from Americans, and it’s just wrong. MD seriously needs a refresher on workplace ethics. A consumer backlash is coming and honestly, that might be the only thing that forces these jobs back to the U.S.

You don’t need to be a genius to see they’re shifting everything to India. Give it a few years and RR, OKC, and even some of the European offices will be history. I’m pretty sure this is going to come back and bites them in the a-s.

Dell lives in 1990s and still thinks offshoring is for cost cuts only. It’s a terrible company to work for.

Dell does have a lot of Sales Specialty people in India.

Because today’s layoffs were all around sales. We don’t have a lot of sales teams in India.

When Dell starts cutting internal IT it will be the India offices who will be hit.

Easy. If I can pay 1/10th of what it costs in the US in India, it’s an easy move for a company.
