A meeting with our group head and he told us then that the layoffs for that project were over and if you're still here, that means "we chose you. We believe in you ". So, what he was saying is they, (managers) actually do decide who they want to keep and who they want to release. It sealed what I suspected all along.

Many say they don't believe management knows, while I am repeating what management said. There was no hidden message where I thought I believed that I am expendable.

There is no loyalty or honesty. You are expendable just like everyone else. Citi promotes what they want people to hear in order to provide the illusion of " we are great" to promote stock price and obtain customers. That's it. I don't even attend town halls anymore because I simply can't stand the shovels upon shovels of BS being tossed around.
