Head quarter location preventing the turn around

Leaders in past did not consider location and noisy office of its head quarter was the problem in turning company around. My advice sell it and build a nice office convenient to all. Even if it can only house 55% capacity. We can take turns going to office. They forget their ultimate goal of turning company around and instead get entangled in RTO. Without adding another location, now they are shuttering OPO.

@OP Our CEO is very qualified guy so I think he may have a good reason decision for centralizing at Deerfield. But it is always our responsibility to provide the feedback and present the case.

We need decorated, not noisy, non depressing, spacious area, good ventilation to work in. If he can fix location then cherry on top. People who got the office designed are no longer there. Our new leaders don’t need yo defend their decisions. The office and location su-ks and that is the truth. Look at the comments below.

They say take care of your people and people will take care of your business. All we can do is deliver the feedback positively and hope for change. If they don’t change, Will I quit? No. But will I be happy about issues not being fixed. You answer that question.

There are so many large hqs in the Deerfield area within 15 minutes. You make it sound like Walgreens is in sticks

@ay why, are you afraid that bosses will be convinced and they will move away from your house if they have a very good reason to.

@ar People who live nearby don’t care. There might be 10% employees who bought home nearby. But it is about turning the company around. Current location does not attract good talent from all over chicago. The head quarter is in expensive area and company may get good price for it.

@ag on yesterday's finance town hall, it was mentioned there's more than enough room for everyone. so much so, that we are going to get assigned seats.

@a5 I couldn't agree with you more! I have to drive 60 miles roundtrip 4 days a week just to get my stupid swipes in. My entire team is remote so I sit alone and interact with no one. It is an incredible waste of my time, gas, and toll money!!! I know the RTO policy was honestly enacted to get people to quit. They are trying to get out of having to pay severance and unemployment to people. I would leave, but the job market is tough right now.
Layoffs will start next month so they can fit the OPO folks into Deerfield. I have no doubt about that. If Motz has a brain in his head, he will sell our Deerfield campus and make all of us fully remote. It is very expensive to keep all of our buildings functioning and it's a total waste of money. We can all do our jobs perfectly fine from home. Face to face collaboration is old-fashioned thinking and totally out of step with modern times. I do not see people having meaningful conversations around me unless it's to complain about being here!!!
This company has been making so many poor decisions over the years, it's truly amazing we are still around.

If only the focus was on fixing the internal problems instead of RTO, we might have a chance. Its Friday and I'm in office all by myself collaborating with no one face to face. Why? Just to get 4 swipes for the week!! You're losing Walgreens, you're going to continue to lose quality people over rules that don't fix the Company. There are plenty of other Companies out there people that will give you the flexibility you deserve!
