Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Round 2 Early Next Year

I am hearing from leadership and many others that yet another round is coming Q2ish. Has anyone else heard this? We cut some of the most insanely needed departments, what else could we cut?

I have been here for 15 years and yes, I know this is normal but this is the biggest cut since 2011. I was in retail for many years and watched when we tried to go indirect and that backfired so very quickly in our face as it was not "customer centric" but 2.0 was the focus.
I know the merger is affecting, I have been riffed twice, I have lived this but I am also curious where else we can cut. The people on my current team in my current channel surprised me and Verizon rarely can do that anymore.
Curious as to the new comp structure roll out coming mid month as well

If you look at retail alignment, a lot of districts are larger than others. This traditionally doesn’t make sense. More stores being converted is definitely happing in 2026. Just look at “future” projects. Everything is on hold/ not happening. They are trying to really cut down on costs like everything is on fire.

This has been confirmed by my SVP - he said these will be quarterly for the foreseeable future. Thursday before the last paycheck date before EOQ. Every quarter at least through 2026.

100% and stop thinking of it as 'rounds'. This never ends. It is how the new world works.
