Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Taking the PiL... and escaping from tejas!

I'll be taking the squeezy payout offer gladly, but I'm dragging it out to the max - not a lick of work before gone Nov 1 or thereabouts. Signing at the last millisecond.
Fun perk: constant mention of "talking with my counsel" in every conversation with my immediate super and any mgt in the elevator or parking lot.

I'm 7 years in, and not ruined yet in my field. Call me lucky.

One serious fact about my joy. Getting myself and loved ones out of this heck-hold pseudo-country described by yeller rose and lone star (aka scowling star end of the pipeline).

Adios, folks.

I don't understand if you take the pil you leave immediately. You don't need to sta y till nov. I do agree with the texas statement it's too hot and humid here to live comfortably. I prefer colorado or the west coast. Texas is great for many things but the weather is terrible. Exxon is just terrible in every way.

@ar They’re being fired but they’re staying on until November? Make it make sense.

When you get fired the employer cuts you off from all the systems and pulls your facility access credentials immediately. If what the OP says is true (probably isn’t) they’ve been given a 90-day off-ramp, will be paid in full, and still retain benefits. That’s the opposite of getting fired.

A friend told me today they were told they have 3 options. NSI , PIP or PIL. I’ve never heard of this before. Now last year they got a NI and no plan. Can it happen like that. I’ve never heard NSI or PIP/PIL? I think that person just got shammed .

“I'm dragging it out to the max - not a lick of work before gone Nov 1”

You can be fired on the spot for this type of BS.

And nobody cares where you live.
