Bumped into someone very close to Doug field on a walk and he said they're going to start using AI to align computer activity with badge swipes to determine if you've left office early or not and discipline accordingly

@at+1jys05cvx is right. They know where you are in the building at all times. Badging in is a subterfuge (sorry UAW members, you'll have to look that word up). They use proximity badges. You won't be able to fool the system with reversible jackets and other nonsense. The only thing you can do is leave your badge at your desk, but then you won't be able to badge in. You'll have to sign in and they'll know what you're up to.
Big Brother has come to Ford. Your only reprieve is to find another job.

I have been working full time for 48 years, did not sandbag my job during that time and won’t now.
As for the badge swipe count, it doesn’t even make the list of important items for the day.
This is 100% true. They track you with badge swipe coming in and cameras going out.
I suggest wearing a different color jacket (reversible) and a large hat when leaving.
Many people in my building are now only working their 8 hours and leaving. No overtime either.

Je-king employees around with sudden changes to attendance directives tears up everyone's existing schedule. This is especially tough on people with young kids.

@c0+1jys05cvx All you have to do is put in your calendar either before or retroactively appointments/meetings that indicate your activity. I.e. Discussion with Sam, Di-k and Harry regarding problem ABC; issues discussed were XYZ; action items are DEF etc.
It only takes a few minutes at the end of the day or the beginning of the next day. The current algorithms will show you as working and you wont forget what you’ve done come PR time.
Got a message about an employee who didn’t swipe her badge. She was on medical leave. So they couldn’t figure that little detail out, but artificial intelligence will?
@bd this is what gets me about all the “everything you do is monitored” messaging by IT people during these conversations. When you’re in person, meetings happen organically impromptu, instead of setting of 3 separate meetings, they weave into conversations with your colleagues, but all while your computer is shut the whole time. Every time I’m at testing, or working with suppliers, at the plant, I’d be shown as not working. Like you say, people act as if it’s not MANUFACTURING

Computer activity means nothing. It's easy to tell that some of the people here are barely aware that we are a vehicle manufacturing company. Meaning that there is engineering personnel on-site where the actual equipment is located. There are days when you can easily go all day without even turning your computer on - depending on the level of production issues that need to be dealt with on the floor... Some of y'alll need to go outside and touch grass.
Depends on the building. Some buildings do not require swipe out.

They already monitor ISP info for all company laptops, so they know if you are logged on from a Ford building or elsewhere.
Nice try on tracking leaving early…just because there’s no computer activity doesn’t mean your’e not working. Supported many suppliers local to Detroit in the afternoons… did not leave early. They will be chasing ghosts.

Will they start using “desk cams” like they use in Japan to monitor what you do at your rent-a-desk?
