Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How are they even paying us

How can they even pay us when we return they can’t even sell anything. unless they took out a COVID loan to pay workers to have it forgiven which would be illegal they were going out of business well before COVID

Ha! Alfie! I forgot about that device. Too bad that did not take off like Alexa. Must have been a huge workload for the team to listen to all those recorded sound bite shopping requests.

@4dev - Since this is the Sears layoff site, that should be, "Alfie, start the timer."

No inventory means no liquidation... cannot make money on a liquidation without inventory.

What is your "it's the end in 2 weeks" post based on?

I can't start a post with my question but I'll ask it here. Eddie Lambert has enough money to live a good life and leave plenty to his family. What advantage or rational would he have to continue playing a chess game with this web of confusion he has created.
His legacy and integrity as a business person would be of concern to most people who are nearing the end of their career. ?

They didn’t get a PPP loan tho even companies currently operating in bankruptcy did. Look it up yourself - have no clue why Eddie is doing this.

@aqj+17lGPjVy But the question is...why? Why is he dumping money into a dying business?

Private company. The owner can choose to have expenses greater than income. The owner can choose to pay those expenses will money other than the income earned by the business the company is in. This is like all those people saying Eddie will have to sell his homes and yachts when transformco goes under taking ESL investments with it. Eddie has lots of other investments in lots of other LLCs with lots of other cash that is fully insulated from transformco.

@pcl+17lGPjVy I haven't gotten anything yet, I expect them to try and weasel their way out of it first.
