Verizon retiree healthcare costs 2-4 times what is available on open market. The 25% retiree wireless discount is far more expensive than T-MO’s 55 plans — or any other carrier. Unless you have pension from wayyyy back or part of the union, there is no reason to stay until retirement. And they’ll rif you long before you hit mid-60s anyway. Get out now before Dan the Hatchet Man and Slam Hammock take what’s left of your dignity.

@aq actually you can keep the current one you already have. If 4x salary it can carry over with the same cost. This is really good if you already have health issues, there is no health assessment if continuing. You aren't getting that in the open market if you have issues.
@aq+1kgsawj9k it's what you currently have before you leave, example, if 6 times your pay then you can keep that. While it's a bit steep when you start to get older it's worth it if you already have some health issues and there is no medical assessment.
Your supplemental life insurance comes at a steep cost --all you get is a 10k policy about $50 per month - the phone plan is a joke -- we switched to ATT and it was cheaper - the health insurance is very expensive compared to what you obtain in the market
@ab you mean like a "descent" into he-l? 🤭
If you have health issues and already had supplemental life insurance, I suggest you look into that. The insurance carries over at the same price as the cuurent group, so that's the only thing worth the retirement "package"
No lies detected... the health insurance offered to retirees is a joke. Don't get me wrong the 6% to the 401k is descent.. but the good stuff ends there.
Yep, he’s not full of sh*t. I’m prepping for retirement and was pretty surprised at what I saw…or didn’t see.
Hes right
