@ct just got the news and it was during my regular 1:1 with my manager (not skip level). It had been rescheduled too.

@ct no surprise, Cisco should sale webex, or just shutdown it. Totally no value for that business.

These don't get scheduled until after the earnings call. Late in the evening or early the next day in the hope that the impacted person doesn't see the invite before the day of the LR.
@OP as long as the one on one is after the earnings call.. rest don't matter, also, some managers keep you guessing by sending out some one on one to mix up these layoff one on one.. depend on groups and managers.. back then , few team members left unscratched at all from these one on one..
@aj lol bullsh-t. my manager asked me around 5 days before my LR to come to the office for a „lunch“ on Thursday (earning call was the day before). She told me that she knew it already, hence she invited me to the office.

been there, and that is how they got me. I see other posts previous says they are all hoax, they are NOT. the past fellows will tell you .. been there and one on one is almost quarterly now.. before or after earnings call.. the common sense don't come to Cisco.
managers actually has 2 day or 3 days before or after earnings call to schedule the one on one. Good manager will let you know early, bad managers will keep you working until last minute.
Small scale layoff is already decided and notification day is tomorrow 14th August. A good earnings call probably won't get you back if you are on the notification list though.
@a2 it is fake post, 1-1 is scheduled AFTER earning call & announcement. NO ONE knows before that.
I'm skeptical that any 1:1's for a LR would go out prior to any announcement on the earnings call.
It's certainly possible but unlikely

I just got my 1:1 as well. I have feelings of both anxiety and immense gratefulness.
We are in a tech bubble and Cisco is still failing (stock price only up due to rising-tides-raising-all-boats). Cisco is relocating its miserable, low-expectations work to Bangalore. This means if you are reading this, you are probably going to be on the receiving end of your own 1:1 call, its just a matter of time and your job performance is irrelevant. Just remember that as you type your reply here.
