Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Mo Money, Mo Problems

Pity your high-paid leaders because they have expensive tastes so this downturn hurts them more than it hurts you as they have bigger homes, bigger cars, more toys, financial commitments.

That was the message today at an EMIT Canada town hall.

I have heard repeatedly about how our leaders have lost millions because of the stock price. Meanwhile, many of us wish we had millions to lose. The “leadership” is so out-of-tough it is laughable.

We don’t want them back. A lot of people were assigned to the FTP because Canada didn’t want them but no one had the balls to terminate these useless people. Probably explains why FTP failed spectacularly.

There’s one sycophantic jackass in particular in EMIT Canada who I want to tell to FO because he always asks why people need to be anonymous.

His judgement was impaired by all the smoke that his direct reports were blowing up his a–. Particularly shameless, Canadians. Honestly, never seen such as bunch of fawning sycophants in all my life. They know the gravy train is ending and the last man standing will be the one who can spew the most mindless management buzzwords, directed upwards.

The true highlight was when he suggested that the submitter of a rather difficult question on Slido should have presented it face to face. Well, everyone knows what happens when you don't agree with your boss. PIP with that NSI?

Seeing the EMIT people that have been sent back to Canada recently, I’m not surprised.

Sounds like his culture coach advisor needs to be PIPd. Yes, that is a real thing. Our managers have coaches to help them Lear how to speak to the great unwashed masses

When management quits paying a freaking engineer to advance their slides for them and run their zoom meeting I’ll have some hope we are making progress on changes.

A new hire asked in a town hall for explanation of salary treatment in down turn earlier this year. VP said while smaller there are always raises. This is the problem. Leadership is so clueless and out of touch as they have only benefited from the system and aren’t even aware that their experience is unique and not the norm. They have no idea what it is like for the majority of us.

Yes, he did. He wanted to show “we’re in it together” and he has problems just like the plebs.

Don’t put it past them to say this. Our CEO said in a Houston town hall during the last downturn when many of us hadn’t seen a raise in two years that we were overpaid and he was underpaid. Benchmarking and such ya know

As dumb as EMIT managment is, obviously they didn't say that, so what did they say?
