Regarding layoffs specifically in November 2025, Cisco is preparing to eliminate approximately 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by early November as part of a cost-saving effort aimed at achieving $2 billion in annual savings. However, the exact dates for these November layoffs have not been specified beyond the general timing in early November.

AI simps for humans. Tell AI it's wrong, and it kneels before you, which it must b/c it can't actually think.
@ap AI is like an unreliable know-it-all assistant.
It's a useful tool, but only when you question it, and ask it WHY it thinks something. I ask it for sources all the time, and then check the sources.
It's more like a much better search engine that a machine that thinks.
@ap I trust an earlier version from a more civilised time:

“Here hold my beer” -LLM probably
Rumor is that SJC will be impacted hard again. Names have been added.
LLMs don't really think, all they do is match patterns. They can't even count! The India Times article is from 2024.
Everything else is likely hallucination, maybe based on Aug 2025 layoffs. There's no credible news sources of any layoffs. Layoffs tend to happen in late Oct/Early Nov because companies have to give 60 days notice, and they like booking charges at the beginning of the year so they don't affect earnings for the previous year.
Perplexity and one source was India Times
Which model does this come from? Please provide source. ChatGPT seems to think it is inconclusive. It speculates there a mass layoff is "unlikely" but says a small number of people may be exited.
