Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

RTO Tracking in Sepetember

There is evidently some type of dashboard your manager has access to or is going to have access to shortly. It is going to show a log of when you badge in and determine how long you are on campus based on how long you are connected to the wifi. If you first badge in too late during the day (e.g. 11 am when you should be in by 9), it'll just count as you missing the day.

This is going to be used to track those not complying with the RTO policy and used as an excuse to fire you for cause, e.g. no severance.

If your manager says that they aren't going to micromanage you, and you dont need to be on site all the time/all day every day, you should get that in writing for legal protection. Do not open yourself up to giving intel a free reason to fire you.

@ez

Also for the record, my manager said [my third level manager, who is a director type level] is who will get the dashboard report. So if there’s an FAQ on Circuit saying your manager won’t be able to see it: lol they’re lying by not admitting the full truth.

My manager confirmed the badge tracking dashboard bit. I haven’t heard about the network tracking.

But I’m certain they’re going to use RTO to fire more people. My theory is the “no packages” rumor came from the nugget of truth that they’re looking to shed people without giving packages.

There will not be any tracking for RTO. Do not create unnecessary tension.

@e9 that is the current page. Maybe your immediate manager might not have access to the data but HR and your VP will. Be prepared for micromanagement

Or do you think they are going to manage this by honor system?

Punch your time card in and out. Can easily change badge system to also require badge out as well.

OP is a troll looking to stir the pot. RTO has a FAQ page on circuit and there is a specific section on badge tracking which says managers do NOT have access to badge data for their direct reports, and that there are no current plans to monitor badge data for exempt employees for RTO compliance, but that they may consider some options to ensure accountability in the future.

@OP I wouldn't put it past remaining incompetents to use RTO to manage out folks they don't want around in order to protect themselves and their crony laden empires.

This is true and is not new. It’s just actually being used now

@ap this site is more relevant to people still employed by Intel. Everyone else is here because they hold a grudge or are just looking for entertainment.

I think OP is partially right. The statement about not following RTO policy as a reason for termination can be expanded to include any policy violations. Removing people with no severance is a savings for the company. Policy violation and performance reviews will be used to trim a lot of people. Expect to be micromanaged more and more.

I don't believe OP knows that Sepetember is not one of the months of the year in this plane of reality.

Some people on-site still use the wired LAN also..

I don't know if you really know it or you are just trolling, but I fully anticipated that hours per day on campus would be enforced as soon as 4 days per week RTO was announced. Looks like LBT is more Grovean than Pat !

PS: I am neutral about RTO.

The badge information would be basically useless, as all it shows is when you came to the building. The most likely thing for them to do is track VPN and on site wifi usage. If you're connected to VPN, you're not on site. If you're connected to on-site wifi, you are.
