Severance is not counted toward service. It is simply a lump sum.

almost 30 years....did they give you the rest to get you to a 30 year pension? is it 9 months pay and counted toward service or just pay?
3 month of health insurance and after that cobra
You need 20+ years work at Ford to get 9month severance.
Same here, almost 30 years and got 9 months.
I was ready to go and this actually worked out for me.
But it didn’t work out for many others, and I’m really saddened by that.
